1. Continue to minimize the evenings we are all out at various times - all family members must be present from 4 - 7 pm
2. Drive less - save gas and money!
3. Get Dave Ramsey up and going for our home - we are so close but just far enough away!
4. Quit soda!
5. Continue to keep sugar out of my diet! Wahoo..I've already lost 23 lbs and want the health to continue!
6. Read more with the kids.
7. Get a laptop
8. Decide my future career and go to school
9. Plan the next 5 vacations and figure out the $$$
10. Take 4 personal retreats
11. Vacuum more often
12. Burn candles more often
13. Spend more time with DH

We stay home every year. Larry & I value our kids waking up in their own beds, opening their presents in their own home & having the day to play with them..in their own home. No rushing allowed on this day.

My list is really short this year. I really am easy to buy for...I have 2 needs - a pedicure from A Polished Nail w/ Colleen & an external hard drive for all my images and digi scrap kits.

OK now ... I will have to tell you this is the strangest before Christmas advice I have received.

'You need to get your brows done before Christmas. Get your brows done!'

Really..I wasn't aware that my pre-Christmas prep was to include getting my brows done. Did anyone check Martha's list to see if it was on there?

Seriously..isn't this funny?

So my holiday advice today is...

'Get your brows done!'

I got a Santa hat picture on file, but I thought this one of Q was more appropriate:

2 year old with cowboy boots in a diaper destroying ribbon..wasn't on the top 10 list???

If you can't tell..he unloaded the whole thing and had a blast running from one end of the house to another.

Thirteen Places My Van Went on Thursday

1. To QT for gas and a hazelnut coffee - love QT's drink area..the buffet is fab!
2. From Columbia to Osage Beach Hospital (90 miles from home) to exchange xmas presents with mom. On the way I got to have quiet because the kids were with a sitter, talked with Jannylynn and the Household Exec and more silence!
3. From Osage Beach to Columbia. Listened to a FanklinCovey CD that came with my planner on the 8th Habit - very good stuff..you'll see more of it here soon!
4. House to grocery store for gum & soda for the big kids.
5. Grocery store to Studio South hair salon to see the best stylist - Hollie.
6. Studio South to Household Exec's home to see her xmas album of scrapbook pages I designed and had printed on Shutterfly for her..way cool!
7. Household Exec's home to grocery store to get food for dinner
8. Grocery Store to home
9. Van is tucked away in the garage for the night!
10. Only 9 places today - whew I guess my day wasn't as heavy as usual!
11. I had a good chat in the parking lot with mom
12. My hair totally rocks! Hollie took it up a notch - she has free reign with my hair - she's got such a creative side that I adore. So I say turn it loose girl - and she does!
13. Spent time with DH today that didn't involve swapping lists, sex or something urgent...just together! That was nice!

Have a laugh..

This may not be for anyone else out there but me.

I sure could use a good laugh!

So, here comes a good laugh and confession.

I can't sing. Maybe like you, I sing fabulous and I am the ultimate rock star in my car. I really can belt a tune out there!

I take Q to daycare and it's a relaxing 20 mile drive back to town. Naturally, I crank it up. Natalie Merchant came on..and it was good! I sounded great and thought I would give the song a second go around and keep my groove on!

Then it hit me! I wonder how good I really sound? Why do you sound so good in the car? And I saw my cell phone sitting there..you guessed it .. it can record.

Now I really let Natalie loose and sang right a long with her! The cell phone was catching every minute of the world debut of the Natalie & Tina tour!!!

You can call it the Natalie & Tina farewell tour!! Because I hit playback and just lost it. It was absolutely funny to hear it and I was quite saddened by the fact..I ain't so good in the car either!
Oh well, there are other talents I have but this one is not in my inventory...

Lesson of the day - laugh at yourself and enjoy it! You really are quite funny if you just laugh about it.
