Item #2 & 3 - Custom Blog Headers!

You're the nicest mom...
Yesterday was a gorgeous summer day in MO. Perfect weather - 85-ish - low humidity (thank God) and beautiful puffy clouds floating through the sky (see example to the right).
I needed to pick up some stuff from Misti and I was going to the park afterwards. Naturally, I grabbed her girls to come along with us! Quinten loves to play with them - he asks for me to get them all the time. Of course, they don't really care if he's around because they are busy with Rebekah! But they don't exclude him (even if they really want to!).
At the park, I took food for PBJ's. We took a few minutes to have a snack and sat at a table in the shade. Ahh shade that cools you off - this is so rare in MO when the humidity is outrageous! I am making the sandwiches and Rebekah pops up 'Mom, you're like the nicest mom.'
'Really? Thanks!' I say.
She continues, 'Yeah me, gracie and sydney were talking and you and Misti are the nicest mom's. You like don't just say NO whenever we have an idea. Most mom's just say NO! So like - yeah you're one of the nicest mom's.'
That's payday for me! I'll take those words any day. But especially now that I am home full time and I have been trying to figure out how to get a day off! 20 years of having a day off AWAY from work has me trained and now, if I have a day off well I am still at work (more on this in another post, got some ideas coming).
We got home from the park and the kids wanted to play in the hose. I have suggested this many times to R, but she never has enjoyed the hose. Not until she saw Gracie & Sydney playing in it and now they are at our house! So, I suited the kids up, gave them the classic extra large Tupperware bowl (I am certain that these bowls are used by kids for fun and not storage - at least it is at my house) and a funnel. The creativity was a blast to watch!!!
I kept hearing peals of laughter and giggles that wouldn't stop as the water was flowing! Sydney took the show by sticking the bowl on her rear and poppin' out her little tushie! You can tell they have to do that move often at dance! Quinten just wanted to fill the bowl over and over - sit in it and then dump over to the side with all the water. Watching Quinten & Sydney together is a hoot - they are both the babies in the family and it shows! They take the show and go for it! Not to mention, they have their own ideas about how things should be done and don't even offer a suggestion to them - you would then be interfering with their grand schemes! Ughhhh
Gracie & Sydney belong to Misti and I have a new blog Freezerchicks! This blog is all about our freezer cooking adventures. I often get weird looks on how do you do that..well now you can see how our group functions, maybe set up your own and find some tasty recipes all in one spot! Check it out - I will be posting our dinner results from last night over there soon!

Green is me!
My friends keep putting stuff like this on their blog and I'm a serious sucker for these things! So thanks for the fun! On a cool note - my big sis and I keep scoring the same on all these 'serious' and 'life defining' tests - what's crazy is the fact we've never lived together and really stink at keeping in touch - genetics are strong! But it's fun and cool to know that my ultra super woman of a sis is out there in the world and that there's a little hope for me when I grow up :-) Isn't that the big sis job? LOL

Rockin' who?
WOW - I got an award from E! Thanks E - she likes my blog because of the cool recipes (who would have thunk) and scrapbook pages! So I am going to tag some of my monthly bloggin' buddies - Kathryn (who has been travelling the ENTIRE USA) and my paper dreams (who is a fellow letterboxer in Ohio!) and because I would love to see her blog updated Jen Beschinski (but she is in the middle of a site re-design so extra grace is given!)
Each of these gals share an insight into their daily lives that help me live my life fuller and more alive than the day before. I especially enjoy and delight in their creativity!
